Do you service on the weekends, or emergency basis?

Yes, we perform emergency and weekend service. Please use the contact form to request emergency service, or call us at (847) 242-1492

Do you use union labor?

We are a union shop, meaning our technicians are all union, and Family Door Service is signatory with those unions.

Are your technicians AAADM Certified?

Yes, our technicians are AAADM certified.

What is AAADM?

AAADM stands for The American Association of Automatic Door Manufacturers. They are a trade association of manufacturers of automatic pedestrian door systems. AAADM certifies technicians to familiarize and meet the compliance standards as set forth in ANSI/BHMA A156.10 Standard for Power Operated Pedestrian Doors, and ANSI/BHMA A156.19 Standard for Power Assist and Low Energy Power Operated Doors. These national standards define and govern such things as installation, sensing devices, and safety requirements for automatic pedestrian doors, and maybe furthered by local regulation.

Do you provide a warranty?

Yes. Please speak to your rep about the warranty that comes with your service, and/or parts.

Do you provide troubleshooting over the phone?

Depending on the situation, we may provide phone service. Please contact us.

Can you retrofit a swinging door to be automatic?

Yes. With some variables, most manual swinging doors can be retrofitted into an automatic door. Contact us to discuss fully.

Can you retrofit a door to receive access control?

Yes. Depending on existing conditions, there are several ways to add access control to a manual swinging door.

Can you retrofit a revolving door to be electronically locked?

Yes. Several variables exist, but revolving doors can be retrofitted to include remote electronic locking mechanisms, and automatic electronic locking mechanisms.
